Aniello Guerra, 75, of Haverhill, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Mugnano del Cardinale, Province of Avellino, Italy on October 11, 1946, son of the late Alfonso and Maria (Guerriero) Guerra.

Aniello came to the United States with his family in 1957. Prior to that he was educated in Italy, and once arriving to Newburgh, NY, he was educated in the school system there. He would graduate from Newburgh Free Academy, Class of 1964. It was there at NFA where he would meet his future wife, Judy Bilodeau. He was soon, thereafter, drafted into the U.S. Army and deployed to Vietnam. Upon returning, coming home to a newborn son, he would go on to attend Merrimack College, part time, while working full time to support his family. He received his bachelor's degree in French with the Class of 1974. He would then go on to receive his master's degree in Education from the University of Lowell, Class of 1980. He was a schoolteacher in many school districts, but most notably at The Greater Lowell Regional Vocational Technical High School in Tyngsboro, Ma.

Aniello, who is known by all as "Papa", was a quick witted, even-tempered, well-respected man who loved to tell stories, corny jokes and sing Italian love songs. He enjoyed playing tennis and golf. He loved to watch his beloved New York Yankees and took frequent trips to Yankee Stadium to see them play.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Judy (Bilodeau) Guerra, his children, Jeffery R. Guerra and his wife, Kimberly of Groton, Ma, and Gina Guerra of Bradford, Ma. He is also survived by his siblings, Francesca Dilemme, Nicola Salvatore Guerra, Silvia Valera, Carlo Antonio Guerra and Simone Guerra. He was the loving Papa to Samantha Faith Guerra, Kyle Austin Guerra, David Aniello Guerra and his wife, Alecia and his great granddaughter, Ember Jean Guerra.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visitation on Saturday, September 24, 2022, from 12-2 PM at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Haverhill & Bradford.
