Clement Warren Nerz November 1, 2022 Clement Warren Nerz, 95, of Fayetteville, NY, died peacefully at home. Warren was smart and curious, witty and fun, light-hearted and wise, sensitive and strong, unhesitatingly generous, and totally dedicated to his wife, children, and grandchildren. A man of faith, he intentionally lived a life of acceptance, forgiveness, and unconditional love. Born in Newburgh, NY, on July 16, 1927, to Norma and Clement A. Nerz, Warren attended St. Patrick's School and Newburgh Free Academy. He loved tending the greens and other duties at his father's public golf course, the Newburgh Country Club, the first of its kind in the area. A World War II veteran, he enlisted at 18 in the U.S. Navy and circled the globe twice working in the engine room of a troop transport, the USS General C.C. Ballou. After the war, he obtained his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Manhattan College on the GI Bill. He enjoyed a long career as a highway construction manager for Savin Brothers, S.J. Groves and Sons, General Crushed Stone, and Barrett Paving in Syracuse. Warren is predeceased by his daughter, Maryellen Nerz-Stormes; his son, Donald Joseph Nerz; his parents and siblings: Marie Lampack, Barbara Peters, and Donald Nerz. He is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Lorraine Harris Nerz, and his beloved children: C. Warren Nerz Jr., and his wife, Gail, of Indianapolis, IN; Marc J. Stormes, of Strafford, PA; Thomas Nerz, and his wife, Kristen, of Houston, TX; Caroline Kelly Nerz of Morristown, NJ; Barbara Gregg, and her husband, Paul, of Massapequa, NY; Honora Eskridge, and her husband, Toye, of Nashville, TN; and Maggie Iribarne, and her husband, Jose, of DeWitt, NY. He also is survived by his sister, June Todd, his 15 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Monday, Nov. 7, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Church, 400 Salt Springs St, Fayetteville.
