Charles Henry Hager Jr., 79, a retired Manager of IBM,
entered into rest on November 19, 2022, surrounded by his
loving family. Charles was born in Highland Falls, NY, lived
most of his life in Newburgh. Spent the last several years
in Little River, SC. Charles was the son of the late Charles
Henry and Marion (Stewart) Hager Sr, he was born August 14,
1943. Charles leaves behind his beloved wife of 53 years,
Kathy VanTassel Hager; his beloved children Timothy, Mark
and Jennifer; his daughter-in-laws KerriAnn and Melissa
Hager; his adoring grandchildren Paul, Tyler, Kayley, Paige
& Brennan. The kids meant everything to him and they
loved their Pa Chuckie/Grandpa very much. Charles was the
most amazing, hardworking, loving, kind and caring man we’ve
all ever known. To know Charles was to love him. Charles was
known to everyone for his warm smile, welcoming heart and
for being a true gentleman and family man. There are not
enough words to describe how important Charles was to our
family. It is so hard to believe that he is gone, a piece of
us is forever gone, but we are truly blessed to have had
this amazing man in our lives. We all love you more than we
could ever put into words. An avid outdoorsman, loved
boating, hunting and fishing. He proudly served in the Army
National Guard of New York. He was a Sergeant Battery C 1st
Bn 156th Arty NYARNG. In lieu of flowers, please make a
donation to your local animal shelter in Dad’s name as he
loved all animals and missed his beloved dog, Katie or to
St. Jude’s. Please post any memories and/or photos you have
with Dad on the Tribute Wall. A celebration of life ceremony
will be held in the coming months, details will be provided
at a later date. - August 14, 1943 - November 19, 2022
