Marino Decrosta - Class of 1962

      Marino J. DeCrosta, a lifetime resident of Newburgh, departed this life peacefully on December 5, 2022, with family and friends at his side. He was 78. He was born in Newburgh on November 14, 1944, the son of the late Carmen A. DeCrosta and Josephine Macaluso DeCrosta. He was an extraordinary father and friend to all. He was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy and served in the US Army National Guard. He had a career at United Parcel Service and the Newburgh School District. Upon his retirement he took pleasure in hunting, fishing, boating and was an avid car enthusiast. His passion for boating and fishing began as child at his family’s summer home on Orange Lake. He was a man with a kindness of heart. Everyone who knew Marino enjoyed his friendship he will be missed by his countless friends and his family. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church, a member of the Bethlehem Rod and Gun Club,Lifetime NRA member, a Member NYS Rifle and Pistol Association, and the US Army National Guard. He is survived by his former wife Elaine DeCrosta; his devoted daughter Kathryn DeCrosta; son Peter DeCrosta his wife Karen and treasured grandson Jared all of Marlboro,N.Y. His beloved sister Catherine R. Hein, her husband Joseph and sister- in- law Connie DeCrosta. His nephews Kevin Hein, wife Judy; Joseph DeCrosta and his wife Maria. His lifelong friend Anthony Giordano and his family. As well as many loving cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his brother Carmen DeCrosta. His zest for life was of benefit as he faced multiple health challenges never complaining. The family would like to thank Dr. Fauzia Paracha for the extraordinary care she gave to Marino over the years. A mass and celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Marino’s name to the Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Littman Cancer Center. - November 14, 1944 ~ December 5, 2022
