Barbara J. Bramall Laddick, a life long resident of
Newburgh, peacefully entered eternal rest at the Meadows at
Brookmeade on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at the age of 82.
The daughter of the late Raymond and Hazel Bramall, Barbara
married the love of her life Bill in 1962. Barbara and Bill
enjoyed a full adventurous life together of 55 years. A
devoted mother and grandmother, Barbara will be dearly
missed by her daughters Heather Moore (Bill) and Melanie
Menzie (Bob) and by "Mimi's" grandsons Ryan and Kyle. A
graduate of Newburgh Free Academy, Barbara began her career
in insurance, which she gave up to be a stay at home mom and
raise her two daughters. Barbara was a life member of
Gardnertown PTA and a dedicated troop leader serving Girl
Scouts of America for 20 years. After her girls grew up, she
returned to the work force as a customer service worker at
Sears, from which she retired. A faithful member of St.
Georges Episcopal Church, she served on the altar guild and
volunteered in the food pantry. Barbara was also a member of
the Newburgh Yacht Club Ladies Auxiliary. Barbara and Bill
loved to travel and experience other cultures with
adventures to Alaska, Egypt, Canada, Hawaii, England, Europe
and Jerusalem. They also enjoyed boating and social events
at the Newburgh Yacht Club, often being champions of LCR
games. Barbara enjoyed doing ceramics, bird watching and
gardening, but her favorite thing to do was to go out to
lunch with Bill. Snowmen made mom smile, so you could find
them around her home year round. The family would like to
say a special thank you to three wonderful ladies, Michelle,
Janet and Pam who with utmost love and respect cared for mom
at home, as well as the incredible caring staff at the
Meadows. In addition to her husband and parents, Barbara was
predeceased by her sisters Ruth Morris, Betty Scott, Hilda
Kowalski and Janet Decker. She is survived by her brother
Raymond Bramall as well as many nieces and nephews. - August
