                  Joseph A. James - Class of 1963

                    Joseph 'Joe' A James , Age 78, died peacefully in his sleep,
                    at home, in New Windsor, NY on January 20th, 2023. He was
                    born December 10th, 1944 to parents Joseph and Margaret in
                    Newburgh, NY. He married Regina 'Gina' Friedle September
                    10th, 1977. Joe will forever be remembered as everyone's
                    favorite bartender in his youth, and went on to become a
                    master carpenter by trade. He served in the US Army as an
                    Atomic Demolition Munition Specialist stationed in Alaska
                    during the Vietnam War. Joe was physically active for the
                    majority of his life, participating in numerous Dash &
                    Splash relays, playing organized softball well into his 40s,
                    spending many years as an avid fisherman, as well as,
                    golfer, and playing poker to his dying day.   He
                    was a lifelong fan of the NY Giants and NY Yankees.  
                              He is
                    survived by his wife Regina 'Gina' James, his son Garrett
                    James, daughter Shannon James and husband Kristian Gilmore,
                    future Granddaughter 'Evie' Gilmore, daughter-in-law Julia
                    'Julie' James, siblings Nancy Douglas, Marion Morris, John
                    James and Wife Denise, Peg 'PJ' Pietroforte, Cindi Lynch and
                    husband Rick, as well as numerous extended family, friends,
                    and anyone he came across that he was able to make laugh.
                    Joe was predeceased by eldest son Joseph D James. 
                      
                    Heartfelt gratitude to Casey and Marsha and all nurses from
                    Willcare and Wound Care.  Visitation will be held from
                    4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25 at Brooks Funeral Home,
                    481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A service and burial will be held
                    at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 26 at Calvary Cemetery, New
                    Windsor. - December 10, 1944 ~ January 20, 2023
