Joseph Manglass - Class of 1956

Joseph A. Manglass of Newburgh, went home to be with the
Lord on Sunday, February 12, 2023 at Montefiore St. Luke's
Cornwall Hospital. He was 85. The son of the late Joseph and
Maria Teresa Comita Manglass, Joe was born July 31, 1937 in
Newburgh, NY. In a career spanning over 50 years, Joe was a
revered Hudson Valley radio personality, familiar voiceover
artist and local MC. His signature greeting of, "If no one
has said it as yet, let me be the first "¦you're looking
good kid" was a hallmark of his morning radio show. Joe was
also a partner in several franchising ventures in the late
1960's and 1970's which included several locations of Tony's
Giant Submarines and Roto-Beef. Later in his career he
purchased back a single unit in Newburgh and rebranded it as
Joe Manglass' Sandwich World. Survivors include his wife, of
62 years, Terry Manglass of Newburgh; son Joseph J. Manglass
and his wife, Robin of Beacon; daughter, Susan Manglass and
her partner, Gregg Weiss of Circleville; a brother, Ralph J.
Manglass and his wife, Mary of Rhinebeck, his three
grandchildren, a great grandson, and many nieces and
nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Mark; sisters, Lena
Farina and Betty Torraca; and one brother, James Manglass.
Joe was a member of Leptondale Bible Church, Newburgh, NY.
Calling hours will be held at Brooks Funeral Home on Friday,
February 17 from 4 - 7 PM. A funeral service will take place
at Brooks Funeral Home on Saturday, February 18 at 10 AM,
followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery.
