Lawrence Goodrich - Class of 1967

     Lawrence H. Goodrich Jr entered into rest on March 11th, 2023 at home in Newburgh, NY. He was 74 years old. Lawrence, fondly known as Butch, was born to the late Lawrence H. Goodrich Sr. and Lillian Etta Morgan Goodrich on March 28th, 1948 at St Luke's Hospital in Newburgh, NY. Butch was a lifelong resident of Newburgh. He graduated from NFA in 1967. Butch was employed for 43 years with Chadwick Lake Filtration Department, where he had the opportunity to begin working before the Filter Plant was constructed. His positions included Senior Operator and Water Superintendent. Over the years, Butch furthered his education at OCCC and NYU. He also had served as a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician for the Town of Newburgh Volunteer Ambulance Corp. Butch was an avid outdoor enthusiast who would always rather be fishing than anywhere else. He was a member of Bethlehem Rod & Gun and the National Rifle Association. Butch is survived by his wife, Donna. They had been together for 58 years. He also leaves behind his children, Lawrence H. Goodrich III, Kimberly (Peter) Neuman, Scott (Sophia) Goodrich, and his four grandsons; Maxwell, Alexander, Andreas, and Nikolas. Butch was preceded in death by four sisters; Grace, Shirley, Barbara, and Betty. He also leaves behind three sisters; Dorothy, Nancy and Donna. Butch is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed.
The Goodrich family would like to express their gratitude to the Town of Newburgh Police for their prompt and compassionate response.
