It is with deep sadness to announce the
passing of John Albon Hornbeck, Jr. (Jack) of Arvada, CO on
January 16, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer. Jack
was born May 5,1946 to parents John A Hornbeck, Sr. and
Rosario Mazas Hornbeck of Newburgh, New York. He is a
lifetime Chamber of Commerce Executive who loved connecting
with his community, going on long distance motorcycle rides,
Airstream adventures, and riding in fast Mustangs. After
retirement from the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce, he
and his wife Janice moved to Colorado to be close to their
family.
He is a
graduate of Newburgh Free Academy, served four years in the
US Air Force stationed in Taiwan, graduated from Orange
County Community College, and is an alumnus of New Paltz
State University of New York with a degree in political
science. Jack is survived by his wife Janice; daughter Kim;
son-in-law David; grandson Beck; sister Elena; brother Cam,
partner Barbara, and her daughter Rebecca; brother Tommy and
wife Vicky; niece Caitlin and partner Conor; and nephew
Andrew. He will truly be missed.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to The Cancer Society in
Jack's name would be welcome.
