Mary Lou Bugiada Milano - Class of 1961

    Mary P. "Mary Lou" Bugiada Milano, 79, of Gardiner, died Friday, March 24, 2023 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Born in Newburgh, she was a daughter of the late Michael & Mary Beccaccio Bugiada. Mary Lou is survived by her husband of 49 years, Salvatore Milano of Gardiner, her children, Lisa Rose Milano of Gardiner, and Louis Milano & daughter-in-law Lacey Traina of Gardiner, three sisters, Rose McVeigh of Westport, CT, Nettie Gaydos of New Windsor and Angela Babcock and her husband, Jack of New Windsor. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Mary Lou was the matriarch of her family, she spent her days caring for her children, animals, and her home. She was a lover of animals, especially ones in need of rescue. She was a strong & beautiful soul and an amazing friend. She will be remembered for her caring nature, her incredible cooking, her warm heart, and her beautiful smile. She had a green thumb as evidence of her many healthy plants displayed about her home. Mary Lou worked for the New Paltz School District as a special education aid for over 30 years before she retired. She spent her retirement years tending to her home & her daughter, helping at her son's restaurant, and volunteering her time to help others. She will be incredibly missed by her family & friends. In addition to her parents, Mary Lou was predeceased by four siblings, Grace, Lucille, Felix "Sonny" and Johnny. The family will receive friends at the Copeland-Hammerl Funeral Home, 162 South Putt Corners Rd on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 from 4-7 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 30th at 11:00 AM at St Joseph's Church in New Paltz, NY. Interment will follow in St. Charles Cemetery. Copeland-Hammerl Funeral Home is honored to assist the family of Mary Lou with the arrangements.
