Charles Frank Thompson "Charlie"
of Plattekill, NY, entered into rest on Friday, March 31,
2023, after a courageous battle with cancer, at the VA
Hospital-Castle Point, Wappingers Falls, NY. He was 85 years
of age. Charles was born on March 31, 1938, and was one of 3
sons born to Helen Augusta Olson and Duncan Douglas Thompson
of Newburgh, NY. Charlie was a graduate of Newburgh Free
Academy and served in the US Air Force from April 2,
1957-March 31, 1961. He also served as an Auxiliary
Police Officer for the Town of New Windsor. He is survived
by his daughter, Terri Ann Thompson (Ted Stephens) of Chapel
Hill, NC; son, John Pasqualicchio (Lisa) of Marlboro, NY;
daughter, Courtney Sagala of Wallkill, NY; son-in-law, David
Sagala of Newburgh, NY; grandchildren, Kayla, Nicholas,
Maura, Maeve, Isabella, Arianna, Gianna, John Jr., Nick and
Stephen. Charlie was predeceased by his wife, Donna
Thompson, his son, Richard, brother, Duncan "Sonny"
Thompson, and brother, William Thompson. He was a loving
husband, father, grandfather and dedicated friend.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Thursday, April 6 at
Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A service
and entombment will be held on Friday, April 7 at 11
AM at Cedar Hill Mausoleum, 5468 Route 9W North, Newburgh,
NY. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations
can be made in Charles' name to the VA Hospital at Castle
Point or the American Cancer Society. We would like to
express our sincere gratitude to the VA Hospital at Castle
Point for the exceptional care they provided to our father.
