David Allen Gilda, 88 of Johnson City New York, passed away
on March 28, 2023. David was born in Albany New York on May
1, 1934, graduated from high school in Newburgh and then
graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1956. He
married his loving wife Justine in 1957 and started his
career and family in Connecticut. He had a long career as a
mechanical engineer at various companies located in
Connecticut, Indiana, Kentucky and Pennsylvania. When not
working, Dave enjoyed taking his family on vacation
adventures to new and exciting places all over the US. His
sons are eternally grateful for this even if they didn't
always behave in the back seat of the car. He enjoyed a long
retirement in Macungie, Pennsylvania traveling with Justine
and flying model RC airplanes with some of his friends.
David was devoted to his family and is greatly missed. David
was predeceased by his brother John Gilda and his sister
Caryl Wilson. He is survived by his wife Justine Gilda, his
sister Gayle (Robert) Tabert, his sons Alan (Leslie) Gilda
and Glenn (Mary) Gilda, and his granddaughter Elizabeth
(Rich) Mazzarese. At his request there will be no formal
