    John J. Herrman, age 93, residing on Long Beach Island, NJ, formerly of Newburgh, NY, passed away on April 26th, 2023, in his home surrounded by his family. John was born on July 9th, 1929, in his parents' home on Leroy Place, Newburgh, NY. He is predeceased by his parents, William and Marie Herrman, and twin brother William. John married his high school sweetheart, Jeanette, and they were married for 72 years. Before his marriage in 1951, he was in the United States Army and stationed in Germany. He worked for the Bank of America, and in 1988 he retired after 25 years of service. Only a few people have had a happy and healthy retirement for over 35 years. John was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi on Long Beach Island, NJ, an avid reader, an amateur Weatherman, and loved to travel. March 7th, 2023, he took his last cruise and had a blast! John is survived by his loving wife, Jeanette. His children are Jessica Hoffman and her husband, John (Deceased), Greg Herrman, Janel Silverii, and her husband, Chris. Grandchildren are Alex Hoffman (deceased), his wife Jaclyn, Justin Hoffman, and his wife, Maureen. Blake Hoffman (deceased), Alyssa Rowell, Marlaina Vaczy, and her husband, Seth. John had four Great Grandchildren Kaleb Hoffman, Conner Hoffman, Austin Hoffman, and Tyler Hoffman. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 2nd from 11-12:30 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at St. Francis of Assisi, Benkard Ave, Newburgh NY, with burial immediately following in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor, NY. - July 9, 1929 ~ April 26, 2023
