Lynda Gail Becker was born On February 23, 1950, in West
Point NY to Gertrude and Donald Becker. She was raised in
Newburgh NY, and graduated from NFA, class of 1968.
Lynda married Leonard Reynolds on December 28, 1974. They
had two children, Sean Paul and Robyn Michelle. Lynda was a
loving and doting wife and mother. Lynda and Leonard were
famous in the neighborhood for their extensive Halloween
decorations, but it wasn't just the decorations. It was
their spirit that brought the lights and music and coffins
and swinging ghosts all together. They didn't wait for any
child to ring the doorbell. Lenny would hide and scare the
kids while my mom would hand out her special treat bags.
Many people still remember Lynda today just for Halloween.
Lynda spent more than 30 years of her life caring for
children while their parents were at work. She earned many
affectionate nick names and helped to raise countless
children in our community.
Lynda also served the United Methodist Church in Fort
Montgomery for many years, she was Lay speaker, Sunday
school teacher, member of various boards, but mostly best
friends with her fellow parishioners.
Lynda was a lover of peace, she marched for civil rights in
the 60's, she waved flags and cheered when the hostages were
released from Iran. She was a hippie at heart who truly
wanted love and peace for everyone in the world. There
wasn't a person or an animal that she wouldn't help.
Lynda leaves behind her daughter, Robyn Kelley and husband
Jason. Most cherished grandson Ian Kelley. Sister Donna
Giametta (John), Brother Don Becker, and Sister Michelle
DeSando (John). Nieces: Sarah Schick, Catherine Warner,
Helena Tietjen, Nicole Tietjen, Krista Becker and Brianna
Becker. Nephews: John Giametta, Matthew DeSando and Jayden
Becker, and several great nieces and nephews. Special
childhood friends Michael Falco, and Alyce Brady Tordsen.
Very special Godson Wesley Judd. Beloved caregiver Frances
Lohmeyer.
She was predeceased by her son, Sean Paul Reynolds and her
husband, Leonard Reynolds.
