John Carl Ardizzone - Class of 1965

      John Carl Ardizzone, 76, of Little River, SC, formerly of Randolph, NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 23, 2023.

John was born in Hackensack, NJ on October 31, 1946. He grew up in Newburgh, NY where he met his wife of 57 years, Gayle. John served in the Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. John and Gayle settled in Randolph, NJ in 1982 and raised their children.

John worked all his life and enjoyed every minute of it. He was in the sales industry, which for anyone who he had crossed paths with, knew he loved people. John was the most selfless, genuine, and compassionate man. He had a way about him that always made you comfortable and was always willing to help, John never met a stranger. He was always the life of the party and had the most electric personality.

John and his wife, Gayle moved to Little River, SC in 2010 and he became the President of the Oaks HOA, was active in his church, Our Lady Star of The Sea, volunteered as Santa Claus for Empty Stocking for underprivileged children, and a Docent at The L W Paul living history farm. If John wasn’t working or volunteering, you could catch him at a Coastal Carolina University football game, as he was a Season Ticket holder, as well as a proud member of CAF (Coastal Athletic Foundation).

Beloved husband of 57 years to Gayle (DeGroat) Ardizzone. Devoted father of Laura Swayze, her husband Dan, Matthew Ardizzone, his wife Cynthia, Amanda Simoni and her husband Jason. Cherished grandfather of Stephanie, Jack, Emma, Ryan, Justin, Alexandra, Adriana, Jake, Kayla, Hannah, Dylan and Aiden. Proud great-grandfather of Ava and Kara.

John was pre-deceased by his parents Louis and Betty Ardizzone.

Visitation at the Leonardis Memorial Home, Inc., 210 Ridgedale Avenue, Florham Park on Saturday from 9-11am, immediately follow by the entombment at Restland Memorial Park in East Hanover at 11:30am.
A memorial service will be held on June 10th at 10:30am at Our Lady Star of the Sea in North Myrtle Beach, SC.
