William "Bill" R. Brown, Sr., 79, of
Manchester, passed away, Saturday, April 1, 2023, Kingston
Court in York. Bill was born July 19, 1943, in Newburgh, New
York and was the son of the late James and Rose Mary (Lease)
Brown. He graduated in 1961 from Newburgh Free Academy in
Newburgh, NY. Following high school, Bill was a music
performer prior to being called to serve his country. He
proudly served his country in the United States Air Force
during the Vietnam War from the late 1960s to early 1970s.
After Bill was discharged from the Air Force his employment
included, salesman, entrepreneur and retail. Bill is
survived by his sons, Waylon Brown, William Brown, Jr,
Andrew Brown, Samuel Brown, and Benjamin Brown; his
daughters, Jennifer Brown, Sarah Harrington, Trinity DeMars,
and Deborah Jessop; Twenty Two Grandchildren, and one great
grandchild. Bill was preceded in death by his son, Jeremiah
Brown and his grandson, Emerson Brown. A Celebration of Life
service will begin at 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 6, 2023 at New
Life Presbyterian Church, 970 Cape Horn Road, York, PA.
Officiating at the service will be his pastor Reverend Erik
Swanson. Burial will be private in Hoover’s cemetery in
Starview, Mount Wolf. Military Honors will be performed by
the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Arrangements have been
entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of
