Catherine M. Walker Williams - Class of 1977

  Catherine M. Williams, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2023, at UHS Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, New York surrounded by those she loved dearly. She was born on January 12th, 1959, in Tokyo, Japan, the daughter of Edgar B. and Bessie I. (Goodnight) Walker. Cathy was a member of the Newburgh Free Academy class of 1977 and graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She married Michael Williams that same year.
       Catherine was a lifelong caregiver for family, friends, and her patients. She especially loved caring for children and her family. She was a certified daycare provider in the county of Sullivan (NY) for over a decade while simultaneously caring for various family members during their time of need. Cathy was an animal lover who was known for always having a four-legged friend.
       In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Lawrence and Edward Johnson, sister Harriet Hill and first-born child Theresa Irene Walker Burns. She is survived by Brother Steven Walker of Spokane, WA., sister Monica Harris of Newburgh, NY., her Lifelong partner David Weber, her two Daughters Dana Williams Walters (Garfield) of Ellenville, NY, and Tamara Williams of Hurleyville, NY., her grandchildren Anthony Walker, Sherrod Williams, Da’ Mani Burns, Tottiona Waitley, Avani Womack, Alijah Williams, Jakai Williams, Garcianna Walters, Gavarni Walters and Daniel Eugene Augustus Foster. She is also survived by a host of Nieces, Nephews and two incredibly special Friends Susan Greene and Vincent Pittignano.
       A visitation will be held from 2 to 3pm on Friday, July 29, 2023 at New Testament Church of Christ, 39 Clinton Ave., Ellenville, NY. A funeral service will be held at the church at 3pm.
