Alonzo Thomas - Class of 1980

Alonzo was born in Newburgh, New York on December 6, 1961.
He passed this life on August 30, 2023 at the age of 61.
Alonzo resided in New Windsor, NY for 54 years. He attended
Newburgh School System, graduating from NFA in the class of
1980. After which he began working for Perkin's in Vails
Gate. He continued working in the restaurant industry as a
cook for a total of 42 years. Alonzo liked listening to
music. He also enjoyed sports, his favorites were the NY
Mets Baseball, and basketball. Walking and having nice food
were his favorites as well.
He is survived by 4 brothers and 3 sisters; Ricky Reddings
of Boca Raton, FL, Merrell Reddings of New Windsor, NY,
Kenny Jones of Hopewell, VA, Harold Williams of New Windsor,
NY, Laura Bain of New Windsor, NY, Linda Ervin Banks of
Raeford, NC and Joyee Herring of Troy, New York. He also
leaves behind a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and his
Perkin's family and dear friends.
Alonzo was predeceased by his parents, John Ennis Lovett and
Claretta McLamb Lovett. (camera shy)
Mr. Thomas will have a Graveside service 11:00 a.m., Monday,
September 11, 2023 at New Windsor Woodlawn Cemetery, New
Windsor, NY. Interment at New Windsor Woodlawn Cemetery, New
Windsor, NY. Professional service entrusted to Rhodes
Funeral Homes, 18 Lake Street, Newburgh, NY 12550.
