William (Bill) E. Booth Jr., 76, a long-time resident of Newburgh and Highland NY, passed away peacefully at home on September 7, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones. Born on November 6, 1946, he was the son of the late Grace & William E. Booth Sr. Bill is predeceased by his brother, Peter Booth. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carole A. Booth, son William (Billy) J. Booth, daughter Melissa Booth Charest, son-in-law Jason Charest, his sister Judy Laskin, his grandsons - Lance Booth, Tyler Booth and Brayden Charest, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bill graduated from Newburgh Free Academy before joining the U.S. Navy with his best friend, Mike DeAngelo. After he returned home from the service, he met and married the love of his life, Carole. They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary this past April. Aside from being an avid fan of sports, horse races, coffee and scratch-offs, his favorite thing in the world was being a father and a “Pop Pop.” He loved nothing more than spending time with his children and grandchildren, whether it was making them laugh or sharing stories. Boy, did he love to laugh! One thing we will all remember about this man, is that he loved to joke around and smile. He was about as sarcastic as they come, a quality that he shared with everyone he loved. His wife, children and grandsons loved spending time with him, and he will truly be missed. Rest in Peace Pop Pop.
Funeral service will take place on Saturday, September 16th, 10:00 a.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery Mausoleum, 5468 Route 9W, Newburgh, NY 12550
