Anita A. Battista Lachance, 66, of Rochester, NH was called home to the Lord on September 13, 2023. Anita was born on March 30, 1957 in Newburgh, NY, to Carmin Battista and Helen Battista (Robinson). Anita graduated from Newburgh Free Academy class of 1975. Anita was not only a wonderful homemaker, but she provided in-home child care to many children in the community. She was a natural, her warm and caring demeanor touched the lives of many children. Anita was a courageous fighter. She had a lifelong battle with rheumatoid arthritis and related complications. She was a inspiration to all who loved and knew her. Anita always looked at the positive side of things despite many obstacles. She never complained and always put others first, her strength and courage will always define her. Anita grew up in NY, making countless memories with her siblings. After graduating high school, she moved with her family to NH in 1976. She then met the love of her life Stephen, to whom she was married for 45 beautiful years. They welcomed their two sons Stephen Lachance II and Christopher Lachance. Anita was a loving, dedicated, and devoted wife and mother. Fond memories were had of her making homemade birthday cakes and many other creations at family gatherings; always being her sons biggest cheerleader, encouraging them from the sideline at all their sporting events. One of Anita's greatest joys was being a Memere. She loved each with every fiber of her being. Her face would light up the second she would see them and her voice would reflect with excitement when speaking with them. She always had a candy bag filled with all sorts of treats, spoiling them. She never missed a birthday or special event, always greeting you with her warm smile and the greatest hug. Anita had so much love and loyalty not only to her family but to God. She was an active and devoted member of St. Mary's Church where she was a member of the Marian Society. She loved going to the different church events and always looked forward to attending the church picnic and Christmas fair. Anita enjoyed being with her sisters. She always looked forward to their birthday lunch, shopping and casino trips. They all shared an unbreakable bond. Anita truly was amazing. She was always willing to listen and give advice if needed. She was someone who you could trust. She never judged and always had an open heart and mind. She was patient and kind. She will forever be loved by all who knew her. Anita was preceded in death by her father Carmin Battista and her mother Helen Morin. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Stephen Lachance, her son Stephen Lachance II and wife Cathy and their children Madison, Autumn and Marcus.
