Fernando Mejias, III, of the Town of Newburgh, entered into
rest on Sunday, July 18, 2021. He was 56. Son of Fernando
and Norma (DeVictoria) Mejias, he was born on October 26,
1964, in New York, NY. A longtime area resident, Fernando
was a driver for Amazon, New Windsor. He also worked as a
food service director in the area for many years. He was a
huge Yankee's fan, and was fond of cats. In addition to his
parents, Fernando is survived by his wife Dawn (Orlando)
Mejias; a son, Fernando Mejias, IV of New Windsor; a
daughter, Ashley Mejias of New Windsor; his former wife and
mother of his children, Elizabeth Perez of New Windsor; two
stepsons, Michael Hanna of Newburgh and Christopher Hanna of
Walden; three brothers, Adam Mejias of Middletown, Samuel
Mejias, and Daniel Mejias, both of Newburgh; and many nieces
and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, July 22, 2021 from
3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Crossroads of Assembly of God, 7
D'Alfonso Road, Newburgh, NY 12550. A Funeral Service will
follow 6:00 pm at the Church. In lieu of flowers, donations
in Fernando’s name can be made to the Newburgh, Animal
Shelter, 645 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh, NY, 12550.
