Joan M. Morris Gerow, of the Town of Newburgh, entered into
rest on Thursday, October 5, 2023. She was 78. Daughter of
the late John H. and Marguerite A. (Lanspery) Morris, she
was born February 20, 1945 in New Windsor, NY. A lifelong
area resident, Joan was a retired administrative assistant,
working for George Harris at NY Life Insurance Co.,
Newburgh. She loved to crochet and do crossword puzzles and
was an avid reader. She also enjoyed watching The People's
Court on TV. Survivors include a son, Sean (Sandra) Gerow of
Wallkill; a granddaughter Alison Gerow; cousins, David and
Carol MacNary of New Paltz and Linda Tompkins of Newburgh;
Goddaughter, Jessica Thompson of Newburgh; and many lifelong
friends and extended family. In addition to her parents she
was predeceased by her husband, Robert E. Gerow, Jr., in
2020.
Visitation will be Tuesday,
October 10, 2023 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at White, Venuto
and Morrill Funeral and Cremation Service, 188 N. Plank
Road, Newburgh, NY 12550. A Funeral Service will follow 1:00
pm at the Funeral Home, with Deacon Thomas Neppl
officiating.
