Frank S. Galli, 71, of Newburgh entered into eternal peace on November 14, 2023 surrounded by his family. Son of the late Colombio and Flora Galli he was born September 15, 1952 in Newburgh. He married the love of his life, Angela Crisci Galli on June 7, 1980. Frank was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy and attended Orange County Community College. He was a retired managing partner for Bridgestone/Firestone.

For most of his life, Frank was active in the community in many different aspects. He was a life member of The Good Will Fire Department, serving as past lieutenant and treasurer. He was currently the treasurer of the Good Will Fire District and trustee for Good Will Benevolent Association. He was also a life member of the Orange County Volunteer Fireman’s Association. Frank spent many former years serving the students of the Newburgh Enlarged City School District as a board of education member and vice president. He was also a past member of the Town of Newburgh Zoning Board and was later appointed to the Town of Newburgh Planning board, for which he still remained dedicated through the duration of his illness. Frank was a current member of the Newburgh Yacht Club, where he served as past fleet captain and purser for many years. He received two lifetime achievement awards and held membership for over 30 years while enjoying his pride and joy, his boat, Casper and his many friends at the club.

Frank lived everyday like it was his last, and always went out of his way to help others with a big smile on his face. He was funny, kind, an avid boater, the absolute best cleaner of anything, Dunkin Donuts enthusiast, and the life of every party. He was well known as the busiest retired man you ever met. To know Frank was to love him and he was loved by the entire community.

In addition to his loving wife Angela of 43 years, he is survived by his four daughters, Jaime Livoti Mennerich, Francesca Crossley (Ryan), Christina Prego (Andrew), and Alisha Galli-Occhipinti (Frank); Grandchildren, Brianna Livoti (Max Mandel), Andrew and Luke Prego, Ella and Alexander Crossley; Siblings, Tom Galli (Cindy), Fran Pepis, Carol Hopmeyer (Peter), and Rose Santaniello; Brother-in-law and sister-in-law Elaine and Manfred Altstadt, many nieces and nephews, and numerous friends who he considered family. He was greeted in Heaven by his parents and his mother and father-in-law, Alfonso and Elizabeth Crisci.

Frank was an inspiration to all of us throughout his life but especially while battling cancer for the past year. The strength and determination he showed through it all was a true testament to how he lived his life. Frank always said, “be thankful for what you have because someone else has less”. Our hearts are broken, and our lives will never be the same. We would like to give a special thank you to everyone who helped our family throughout the past year, especially Dr. Eytan Stein, Coleen Ranaghan, and the entire Leukemia team at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center who took the best care of Frank for the past year of his life. We would also like to thank the Town of Newburgh EMS, Mobile Life Support, and the medical staff at St. Luke’s Montefiore Emergency Room for their sincere compassion during Frank’s final moments.

A Mass of Christian Burial to be offered 10 am, Monday, November 20, 2023 at Sacred Heart Church, 25 South Robinson, Newburgh to which relatives and friends are invited. Family will receive guests prior to Mass. Firematic service to follow Mass.
