Loretta Engelmann Ulmer Foreman was called home to the Lord
on November 24, 2023, after a short but courageous battle
with pancreatic cancer. She was born March 19, 1942, in
Newburgh, New York, but was a long-time resident of Central,
Louisiana. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, friend,
and businesswoman. She was known for her selfless service to
the community. Throughout her life, Loretta faced obstacles
head on and with no fear, always relying on the Lord for
strength and guidance. She encouraged all those she met to
strive for their best and to have a relationship with God.
Even in her final days, she rejoiced in the realization that
she would spend Christmas with Jesus. Loretta leaves behind
a legacy of admiration and respect to all those who knew
her. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished by the
lives of her family and friends. Loretta is survived by her
loving husband, John Calvin Foreman; her sons: Timothy
Ulmer; Scott Ulmer, and Todd Ulmer (Lynde); stepson, Jeff
Foreman and stepdaughter, Christy Foreman, and
grandchildren: Sarah Ulmer, Braden Ulmer, Bradley Ulmer, and
Amy Albin; as well as extended family and friends. Loretta's
family would like to give special thanks to all the doctors,
nurses, and caregivers from Compassus Hospice Care for their
sympathy, kindness, and support during this difficult time.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. on
Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Blackwater United Methodist
Church, 10000 Blackwater Road Central, LA 70714, followed by
funeral services at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family
requests that you please make a donation to the Blackwater
United Methodist Choir. Donations can be made online at https://www.blackwaterumc.org/giving
