Robert J. Earley, aged 88, peacefully departed this world on Friday, November 24, 2023, surrounded by his family at Wesley Health Care Center. Born on March 28, 1935, in Newburgh, NY, he was the son of the late Henry E. Earley and Dorothy E. Knapp Earley. Robert was employed by Central Hudson Gas & Electric in the Newburgh area for many years before retiring. He was signed by the Brooklyn Dodgers shortly after graduating high school and was best known for throwing a 90 mph left handed pitch from 1953-1955. He was an avid sports fan and a proud member of the Elks. He enjoyed visiting Lake George in the summertime and Myrtle beach during the winter months but his greatest joy was always found in the company of his family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ruth Hart Earley, with whom he shared more than 50 joyful years. He leaves behind daughters Kathi McAndrews (Mark) and Krystie Richardson (Bobby), a sister Janice Brumbaugh, and a host of grandchildren: Kayla Verginio (Mike), Tyler McAndrews, Robbie Roberts, Janelle Roberts, and Jamie Roberts. Additionally, he is remembered by his niece Michelle Mustain and nephew Billy Cory, as well as numerous friends who will forever miss his sense of humor and humble spirit. In accordance with the family's wishes, there will be no calling hours or service at this time. - March 28, 1935 ~ November 24, 2023 (age 88)
