Ellen Collins Wylam - 97, of Mechanicsville, went home
to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 5, 2023. Ellen was
born in Newburgh, New York on October 29, 1926 to James F.
and Emma M. Collins. She was married to Roy W. Wylam for 49
years. She lived in Cornwall, New York, Danbury,
Connecticut, and for the last nine years she lived in
Mechanicsville, Virginia. Ellen was predeceased by her
parents, her husband, Roy, and her two sisters, Marie
Rhoades and Frances Reilly. She is survived by her
daughters: Donna Murphy, Janis Anderson and Nancy Stalter,
five grandchildren: Rebecca Stingle (Chris); Emma Stalter
(Megan); Jennis Stalter (Wendy); Christine Young; Mary Ellen
Chianella (Anthony) and Ethan Stalter (Reesie) and 15
great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
A Memorial service will be held at Broadus Memorial Baptist
Church, Mechanicsville, VA, at 11 a.m. on December 27, 2023,
with burial at a later date. Published by Richmond
