Earl McDoe - Class of 1962

  Earl McDoe, 79 of Newburgh, NY departed this life on December 21, 2023. The son of Levander and Mary Sutton McDoe, Earl was born on May 22, 1944 in Honeycutt, NC. He was educated in the Honeycutt, NC school district. After migrating to Newburgh, NY, Earl graduated from Newburgh Free Academy. Earl was employed and retired from USMA West Point after over 20 years of service. Earl accepted the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and joined First Born Church of the Living God under the leadership of Bishop Luke Grant Sr. He served faithfully in the ministry , until he answered God's call to preach the Gospel. His passion for God's Word inspired him to attend and graduate from Newburgh Bible Institute, earning a bachelor's and master's degree in biblical theology. Earl continued to serve faithfully served under his pastor, Pastor Lamont Garner Sr. He was faithful superintendent/teacher of the Sunday school dept. for Grant Memorial House of Joy. Earl was a pillar of his community and served in many capacities, he would regularly visit the sick and shut-in in the hospital and nursing home, served faithfully at the Best Temple food pantry ministry, Newburgh Armory, and Ebenezer Baptist Church weekly ministry. He will be deeply missed by all for his compassion to serve God's people. Earl leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 21 years Derotha McDuffie of the home, his children 1 daughter- Gail Yvette McDoe and 1 son Kenneth (wife Juanita) McDoe of Newburgh, NY, (mother of his children) Willie Walker-Bevier, 3 step-children Cricket Nelson McDuffie, Cathy l. Burks, Sam Burks III, BRENDA OBIE, 12 grand-children, 6 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Earl was predeceased in death by his parents Levander and Mary Sutton-McDoe, LILLIE MAE MCDOE, (3) sisters, Reva McDoe, Derotha Salabie, Linda Hill, (1) brother, Donnell McDoe, (2) grandsons- Diontte' Jones and Jonathan McDoe.
