Amy Leonardo Antinori, passed peacefully, surrounded by
family on December 30th, in her home. She lived a happy and
healthy 102 years. Born to Samuel and Catherine Leonardo, on
April 13, 1921, Amy was the first in her family born in the
United States. She had a true thirst for learning her whole
life. After her 1939 graduation at Newburgh Free Academy,
she continued to feed her thirst for learning, reading the
newspaper cover-to-cover daily, and buying a computer and
getting on the internet, while taking classes at Mount Saint
Mary’s College in her 70s and 80s. She especially had a love
for languages and history. Amy married S. P. John Antinori
in 1941, at Sacred Heart Church in Newburgh. She was a
devout Catholic, who held strong to her faith, attending
mass each week. She was the support network for the family
business, Johnny’s Service Station, for many years.
Following the sale of the business, she began her second
career at Sears, where she retired after over 25 years of
service. Amy, or “Mimi”, as she was affectionately called by
her grand and great-grandchildren, could always be found
watching the Travel Channel, History Channel, or Food
Network. She loved to be social, attend luncheons with her
coworkers, and attend Italian Club meetings. She loved to
cook, sew, and listen to Italian opera music-Pavarotti
recently being replaced by Botochelli as her favorite . In
addition to her parents, Amy was predeceased by her husband,
John Sr., son, Andrew, sisters; Helen, Angeline, and Jean,
brothers; Constantine, Samuel, Paul, and Anthony, and
nieces, Linda and Sharon. Amy is survived by her son, John
and his wife Pia, daughter-in-law, Bea Antinori,
grandchildren; Marianne (Mike), Andrew (Amy), Rosanne
(Marc), Andrea (Trevor), and Gianna,great grandchildren;
Michael, Emily, Matthew, Madelena, Juliana, George, Elyse,
and Isla. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews,
who she cherished.

Amy Antinori - Posted by Kathi Darrigan 1968 - Our
classmate, John Antinori's mom passed away this morning. Amy
graduated NFA with my dad and I have been blessed to be her
next door neighbor for almost 25 years. She was not just a
neighbor but also a friend. I loved visiting her and
listening to her stories - 102 years old, she had many
stories! She will be missed ❤️ -
May she rest in peace. John, condolences to you and your
family.
