Dominick Roscino, Jr., age 85, died peacefully at the Kaplan
residence in Newburgh on January 18, 2024. Dominick was the
son of Mary (Scalzo)and Dominick Roscino Sr. He was born on
June 26, 1938 in Newburgh New York.
He was a graduate of NFA, class of 57, and he was an
outstanding basketball player. His nickname was "Dynamic
Dom". After graduation, he enlisted in the United States
Navy. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal for saving a
man's life. He was honorably discharged in 1961.
On June 26, 1964, he proposed to the love of his life, Judy
McMillen, and one year later on June 26, 1965, they were
married in St. Mary's Church in Newburgh . Since June 26th
was his birthday, he would never forget the date of their
anniversary.
For many years, he played golf at the Newburgh Country Club,
was a member of the Town of Newburgh Lions Club, was the
chairman of the Town of Newburgh Republican Committee, was
on the Reunion Committee for the NFA Class of 57, and
volunteered for the Friends of Seniors.
More recently, he belonged to Club 60 in the City of
Newburgh, and really looked forward to the weekly meetings,
bingo, and the many trips we took with the club.
Dom always had a sense of humor, but he always had a very
sensitive, and caring side, he enjoyed helping people.
Most of all he loved his family. He is survived by his wife
of 58 years, Catherine (Judy) Roscino, son, Dominick (Lori)
Roscino III, daughter, Kimberly Dando and husband Todd, and
granddaughters, Haley, Grace, Lindsay and Anna. He is also
survived by his sister, Rose (Maurice) Talbot,
sisters-in-law, Sandy McMillen, and Mildred (James)Walsh. He
is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dominick was pre-deceased by his parents, Dominick and Mary
Roscino, his brother Joseph Roscino, Sr. &
sister-in-law, Maryann Roscino and brother-in-law, Donald
McMillen, Jr.
In keeping with Dom's wishes, services will be private. We
would also like to thank everyone who cared for Dom during
this time, his doctors, Middletown Park Manor, Garnet
Health, and the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence. In lieu of
flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's
Research Hospital or Maria Fareri Children's Hospital in
Dom's memory. - June 26, 1938 ~ January 18, 2024
