Joann DeMatteo, age 78, of Barnegat, NJ, passed away on
January 20, 2024. She was born on September 1, 1946, in
Newburgh, NY. Joann was a loving mother, grandmother, and
sister. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law
Richard and Kathy DeMatteo, and her three grandsons Richard,
Michael, and Andrew, who all reside in Colorado. She is also
survived by her two brothers Michael Tweed of Independence
OR, and Melvin Tweed of Auburn, NY, and her sister Terri
Couchman of Hyde Park, NY, as well as several nieces and
nephews. Joann was preceded in death by her beloved husband
Frank DeMatteo, her brother Anthony Tweed and her parents
Melvin and Jennie Tweed. Joann enjoyed spending time with
friends and family, traveling, bowling, seeing shows, and
very much enjoyed cruises. Her last cruise was an Alaskan
cruise. Her most recent trip was spending time with her son
and family in Colorado for Christmas.
Calling hours will be held on Friday January 26th from
10-12noon at the DiDonato Funeral Home, 1290 Route 9W,
Marlboro. Funeral Services will follow at noon at the
funeral home. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery,
