John Dugan - Class of 1944

JOHN WILLIAM DUGAN, age 97, exchanged the temporal for the
eternal on January 15, 2024, and was ushered into the
presence of the Savior whom he loved and served.
John
was born on August 14, 1926, in Newburgh, New York. He
served in the US Navy during World War II. After his return,
he married Sarah Edith Earl, also from Newburgh. They were
married for 67 years when she passed. John was called to
serve as director of the Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF)
for Kanawha, Clay, and Boone counties of WV in 1966. During
his career, John also served at Mt Pleasant Baptist Church
in Elkview and Cross Lanes Bible Church. He was a member of
Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Charleston, WV.
John
is survived by his son John "Jack" William (Linda) Dugan and
their daughter Catherine; daughters Lillian (Gary) Morris
and their three children Victor (Lisa) Morris, John (Cece)
Morris, Debbie (Juan) Maclean; Linda (Rich) Huber, Faith
Dugan and Eileen (Chris) Stewart; six great-grandchildren;
and two great-grandchildren.
Service will be at Noon on Monday, January 22, 2024, at
Hafer Funeral Home, 50 Pinch Road, Elkview. Officiating will
be Pastor Jesse Waggoner of Mt Calvary Baptist Church.
Burial with full military salute will be in Donel C. Kinnard
Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar.
Visitation will be held from 11 to Noon prior to the
service.
