Jean Dickson Ambrosetti - Class of 1954

Jean Helen Dickson Ambrosetti, 87, a lifelong resident of
Newburgh, NY, passed away on January 24, 2024. She was born
on October 22, 1936, in Newburgh to the late Grace (Smith)
and Thomas Dickson. Jean was married to the late Frank
Ambrosetti for 57 years. She was preceded in death by her
parents, as well as her brothers Thomas Dickson, Jr. (Myra),
Robert Dickson (Ginny), Ronald (Cris), and sister Joan Scott
(Robert).
Jean was a devoted mother and grandmother who will be deeply
missed by her daughters, Gay Miller and partner Dr. Paul
Pomerantz of Newburgh and Susan Pagano and husband Dr. Brian
O'Sullivan of Epsom, NH. She leaves behind her adored
grandchildren, Brandon Miller of Newburgh, Vincent, Matthew,
and Francesca Pagano of Epsom, NH, Lee Miller of California,
and Eric Miller of Florida. Jean was also blessed with a
great-granddaughter, Brenna Miller of California. She is
survived by her sister, Barbara Czinkota (George) of Bonita
Springs, FL, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Jean attended Newburgh Free Academy, graduating in 1954. She
went on to have a diverse and successful career. Jean began
as a homemaker, dedicating herself to her family. Later, she
joined Sandler and Worth Flooring, where she worked her way
up from secretary to become the first female salesperson and
store manager in the organization.
In her personal life, Jean was known for her funny,
determined, and take-charge personality, her love of order,
and her unwavering belief in her children. She was brave,
loyal, and classy, always bringing love and warmth to those
around her. Jean's devotion to her family was unwavering,
and she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones.

The Brooks Funeral Home in Newburgh, NY, is assisting the
family with the arrangements. Jean Ambrosetti's presence
will be deeply missed, but her fierce and loving spirit will
forever be remembered by all those whose lives she touched.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on
Wednesday, January 31 at 10 AM. Interment of cremains will
take place at Orange County Veterans Cemetery at a later
date.
