Nadya C. Pedone Maisonet - Class of 1966

Nadya C. Pedone Maisonet, a longtime area resident of
Newburgh, NY entered into rest February 9th, 2024 at New
Paltz Center, New Paltz, NY. She was 76. Daughter of the
late George and Mariette Pedone, she was born on January
16th, 1948 in Newburgh, NY. Oscar, her husband predeceased
Nadya in November 1988. They were married at St. Patrick's
Church in Newburgh, NY in June of 1966. Nadya loved to spend
her time helping others and she would go out of her way to
help anyone in need. They called her "The Mom of Newburgh".
She would sit outside of her house and everyone just stopped
to talk with her. If you knew Nadya she loved talking with
people. Most people called her Naj, she loved her dog Roxie,
and loved drinking her Dunkin Donuts coffee. She graduated
from NFA in Newburgh, NY and worked for Mount Saint Mary's
infirmary as a nurse's aide. Survivors include her two
daughters Yolanda and Tanya, and her son Erik, all from
Newburgh, NY; her eleven Grandchildren: Nicole, Eddie,
Monica, Erik Jr, Marissa, Armon, Ameer, Trinity,
Mimi,Vanessa and Isaiah; and three great grandchildren
Reina, Leo and Neveah. Other survivors include her first
cousins Kathy Cunningham, Michelle West, and Toni Marie
Pedone. Her last connection to Belgium was her cousin Roger
Job.
