Antoinette DiLorenzo Kartis passed on Thursday February 15,
2024 at home, surrounded by family and loved ones. She was
84 years old. Antoinette was a long time resident of
Newburgh, NY, born on August 10, 1939, in Brooklyn, NY. She
was the daughter of the late Concetta and James DiLorenzo.
Annette was a devoted employee of the loving community at
Bishop Dunn Memorial School for many years with her dear
friends. She was an active member of Our Lady of Mercy
parish in Roseton, NY alongside her husband, Paul Kartis
whom she was predeceased by in 2013. She and Paul were both
members of Middlehope Fire Department, where Annette served
in the Ladies Auxiliary. When she was not helping with
church functions, she could always be found spending time
doing the things she loved such as playing tennis. She was
an avid Mets fan and enjoyed quality time with her family,
especially her six grandchildren, volunteering, or even
traveling with her younger sister, Joanne. Annette was
always known for her welcoming and warm personality, never
without a smile on her face. Her favorite times were spent
with family having "Sunday sauce", especially around the
holidays.
Annette is survived by her sister, Joanne Anisky; brother
James DiLorenzo and wife Bonnie DiLorenzo; son, Paul Kartis
Jr and wife Patty Kartis, daughters: Laura Bronson and Diane
Kartis; her six loving grandchildren: Jessica Kartis, Jason
Kartis, Tyler Bronson, Joseph Kartis, Elise Bronson and
Natalie Bronson; as well as many nieces, nephews, and
cousins. Her family would like to thank her long time care
givers Blossom, Dana and Chris for their many years of
loving and compassionate care. She is predeceased by her
parents Concetta and James DiLorenzo and husband Paul Kartis
Sr.
Visitation will be held Monday February 19 from 4pm-7pm at
