Rosalie A. Genco Moresco passed away on February 16, 2024 at
Taconic Hopewell Nursing Home. She was 93 years old. Rose
was born in Newburgh, NY to the late Joseph and Caterina
(Cipolla) Genco on October 27, 1930. She was married for 61
years to the late Vincent James Moresco. Rose graduated from
Newburgh Free Academy and worked at IBM East Fishkill as a
Production Expediter. Retired in 1991 she was a member of
the Quarter Century Club. She filled her retirement years
volunteering with Meals on Wheels and Sacred Heart Food
Pantry and was a member of Club 60. Rose leaves behind her
children: Vincent and his wife Susan of Newburgh, daughter
in law Patricia of Newburgh, Angela Hoffman and husband
Steven of Clifton Park NY and Dominic and wife Andrea of
Virginia Beach VA. She was a devoted Grandmother to: Caitlin
Lazarski (Benjamin), Kristen Sumple (Kyle), Philip Moresco
(Arantxa), Micheal Moresco and his fiance Courtney Eichner
and Lily Moresco. Also, five loving Great-grandchildren:
Jacob and Zofia Lazarski, Mia, Walker and Adriana Sumple who
loved their Nona. She was also survived by cousins Rose and
May of Brooklyn and many nieces and nephews. In addition to
her husband, she is predeceased by her son Philip T. Moresco
and grandson Matthew Hoffman. The family would like to thank
the staff of Taconic at Hopewell for the loving care they
gave Rose for the last 2 years.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church,
Newburgh at 11am on Tuesday February 20, 2024. Interment
will be in Calvary Cemetery following the Mass. In lieu of
flowers donations can be made to Sacred Heart Food Pantry. -
