William (Bill) George Raycraft, 91, a longtime resident of Dennis, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2024 surrounded by his family.
He proudly served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Timbalier during the Korean War and then worked for the Bell System, New England Telephone, and AT&T. In retirement he enjoyed morning walks, handyman projects, good books, global travel, delicious food, backyard happy hours, and bracing swims in Cape Cod Bay at high tide. Whether down at the beach or under his beloved linden tree, he shared many pleasant moments and gatherings with family, friends, and neighbors. Bill especially savored family celebrations and birthday cakes.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, he leaves behind his loving wife of sixty-five years, Mary Theresa (Burke) Raycraft, their four children, eight grandchildren, and great grandson. He is also survived by a sister and several nieces and nephews.
Bill Raycraft lived a full, rich life and is dearly missed. His family asks to "remember Bill as you knew him".
Funeral services and interment at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne was private. Donations in his memory may be made to the Dennis Memorial Library. http://www.dennismemoriallibrary.org
