Ajayi Anu Hollins Oliver - Class of 2010
Submitted by Pauline Rute Hall 1952 <Grammypgh@aol.com> on 04/Sep/2010 Message: Ajayi Anu Hollins Oliver entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at the Lincoln Hospital in Bronx, NY. He was 18 years old. Ajayi was born on May 23, 1992, to Michael Ray Oliver and Tamie Hollins (Oliver) in Newburgh, NY. He was a resident of Newburgh, NY. He was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy High School and was to attend college in New York State where he was to major in Psychology and minor in the Arts. He was a member of the Newburgh Tabernacle Seventh Day Adventist Church in Newburgh. He served as a junior deacon. He served in the usher department, the youth choir and the group "souls in harmony", and as a leader in A.Y.S. (Adventist Youth Services) and in the personal ministries federation of the northeastern conference of Seventh Day Adventist where he used his gifts and talents. Ajayi love for God and for God's music took him to various conventions, workshops, crusades, churches and other oranizations where he was able to express his gifts of music. Ajayi is survived by his parents, Michael Ray Oliver and Tamie Pebbles Hollins (Oliver); brothers, Michael Oliver, Jr. and Kwame Hollins-Oliver; sisters: Angela Oliver, Shatonka Green, and Zandra Johnson; grandmothers, Paulette Ross and Betty Oliver; great-grandmohter, Mattie Mae Hollins; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his grandfathers, Barry M. Hollins and Joe Oliver. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 7, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 76 First St., Newburgh, with services to follow at 12 noon at the church. The Elder Trevor Stewart officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newburgh.
