William S. Baker - Class of 1965

        William S. Baker of Clifton Park 77, died Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Albany Medical Center. Bill was born in Newburg, NY to the late William S. and Margaret Woods Baker. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Viet Nam War. Subsequently he graduated from SUNY Brockport receiving a bachelor's degree in public administration. He worked for Saratoga County for several years, retiring in 2007 as the Personnel Director. Bake traveled extensively with his friends and family for many years; he was fortunate to see different places all over the world. Additionally, he was an avid sports fan and thoroughly enjoyed rooting for his beloved Jets ( may they win the Super Bowl in his honor).
         Bill was predeceased by his brother; Ronald Baker. He is survived by his wife of 50 years; Faith Reinl Baker, two children; Margaret (Barry) Burt of Denver, CO, Justin S. (fiancĂ©e; Beth H. Waring) Baker of Clifton Park, four grandchildren; Bailey, Paige, Avery and Tobin Burt, one sister; Sharyn (Robert) Knoll of Cincinnati, OH, he is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
         Calling hours, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend, will be Sunday, April 7, 2024 from 2 until 5 p.m. at the Gleason Funeral Home. His Mass of Christian Burial, will be celebrated, Monday April 8, at 11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 810 Union Street, Schenectady. Burial, with military honors, will follow the mass at Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
