Johanna Calyer Crisci - Class of 1957

    Johanna Calyer Crisci - Class of 1957, a cherished mother, devoted wife, and beloved friend, passed away peacefully at home on April 11, 2024. She was born on November 9, 1939, in Cornwall, NY, to Veronica and Joseph Calyer. Throughout her life, Johanna was known for her unwavering kindness, gentle spirit, and boundless love for her family. She touched the lives of all who knew her with her warm smile and generous heart. A devoted mother and Nanny, Johanna had a deep passion for the New York Yankees and never missed a game, cheering them on with all her heart. Johanna's family was the center of her world. She leaves behind her loving husband, Joe Crisci, who was her partner in life and love. She is also survived by her son, Joe Crisci, and his wife Gayle of Marlboro, NY, and her daughter, Michelle Truncali, and her husband Bill of Marlboro, NY. Johanna adored her grandchildren, Meghan Henson, Lily Moresco, Alexandria Crisci Bartunek(Nick), Jaclyn Truncali (Ken) and Zachary Truncali (Hannah), who brought immense joy to her life. Johanna was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Evan Gessner, Tyler, Austin, and Brynn Henson, and Charlotte and Rilley Bartunek, who filled her heart with love and laughter. Johanna's faithful companion Wizzy her beloved dog. Johanna was a dedicated educator, having retired from the Newburgh City School. She was also the former owner of Perkins Pancake House in Wappingers Falls, NY, where she created a welcoming space for friends and community alike. Johanna was preceded in death by her sister, Sue Burgard, and her grandson, Michael Truncali. She is now reunited with her beloved dog Pacey. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered. The family would like to extend a special thanks to hospice for their compassionate care during Johanna's final days.             Visitation will be held at Brooks Funeral Home on Sunday, April 14 from 1 - 4 PM.
