William D. Leo age 72, entered eternal rest with family by
his side on April 12, 2024 in Clearwater, FL. A perfectly
planned place to retire given his love for fishing and
cruises. Billy, Bill was born May 25, 1951 in Newburgh, NY to
Charles and Gloria (Peters) Leo who proceeded him in death as
did all his Aunts and Uncles from the greatest generation. The
only survivor was Aunt Jean (Burns) Leo who sadly passed on
September 23, 2024. His big sister, Mary Ann (Leo) Dickinson
survives him as do many cousins, though some proceeded him in
death, memories live on of backyard BBQs, late night swims,
and hunting and fishing trips that embedded the enjoyment of
these activities in Billy. He is survived by his spouse of 50
years, Janice (Topper) Leo, 2 children, Sean Leo, Lisa (Leo)
Driscoll, and her husband, Michael Driscoll, a grandson,
Dakoda Driscoll, 5 nieces, and 2 nephews. In 1972, Bill
enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1984
as a decorated sailor. Bill was a talented electrician and
worked in the field of engineering for many years while living
with his family in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.
Bill unofficially retired from the rat race and became a PC
Build Technician for freehomecomputer.org, a charitable
association owned by his wife that brought free and low cost
computers to families with children. Billy liked sports cars
and twilight rides with the top down when he found himself
blessed to own a convertible. His suffering is over now and
his family invites you to picture him on a cruise where he
cannot lose as this is the imagery they envision as his final
resting place. Bill's family will be holding a memorial
service on November 29, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at Cedar Hill
Cemetery 5468 Route 9W North, Newburgh, NY 12550. All are
welcome. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to make a
donation in Bill Leo's name and make checks out to Caron's
Father Bill Chapel Fund which sponsor's extended housing when
people are seeking to achieve recovery from substance use
