Bridget Maniscalco - Class of 1972

     Bridget Maria Maniscalco of Saddle River, NJ and a longtime resident of the Hudson Valley, passed away at Hackensack Medical Center on April 25, 2024. She was 70 years old.
She was the daughter of the late Francis Joseph Maniscalco and Nofria (Frieda) Vita Loria.
Bridget was born April 16, 1954 in Brooklyn, NY.
Bridget attended Sacred Heart School in Newburgh, South Junior High and graduated from Newburgh Free Academy (NFA) in 1972. She was a member of the National Honor Society.
She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church, St. Mary's Church and St. Francis Church in Newburgh, NY.
Bridget was a member, committee person and officer of the Orange County Legal Secretaries Association, New York State Association of Legal Secretaries and National Association of Legal Secretaries. She enjoyed traveling and participating at local meetings as well as those held throughout New York State and nationally.
She loved her New York Mets. She would attend a game once a year with her good friend, Peggy Bennett. She cherished yearly vacations with her cousins. Bridget enjoyed reading and listening to every genre of music. Other pleasures included traveling to many places and meeting new people along the way.
Survivors include her brother Joseph Maniscalco and his wife Diane, niece and godchild Alanna Maniscalco, niece Emma Rademaker and her husband Kevin, great nephew Landon Joseph Rademaker, great niece Mia Rademaker, Aunt Rosalie Gulotta and numerous cousins on the Maniscalco side of the family. God child Rita Ramirez and her husband Manny, Lisa Cossentino-Miller and her husband Keith, Joseph Cossentino who Bridget considers her nephew. Also, Staci Scalfari along with cousins Anthony Ruvalo, Grace Loria and Phil Loveland.
A special thank you to her two best friends since grammar school, Antonette Cossentino and Diana Campos. A thank you to her many coworkers and friends at Jacobowitz and Gubits.
The family wishes to thank Brighton Gardens of Saddle River, NJ for their care of Bridget over the last four years. The staff of this facility was family to Bridget. She loved them all and could feel the love that was showed to her. Bridget was treated with compassion and kindness that her family will always be grateful for. Bridget had numerous friends at Brighton Gardens, including the dog Rusty, aka the resident greeter.
Donations can be made to the ASPCA or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
It was Bridget's wish that no flowers are necessary. A vase with red roses will be available for each person to take one and place it at a designated area by Bridget's side.
Arrangements are made by Brooks Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held at Brooks Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 30 from 4 - 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 1 at 10 AM at Sacred Heart Church, followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery. - April 16, 1954 ~ April 25, 2024
