Marie Theresa Brewer passed away peacefully on the morning
of April 27, 2024, she was 95. Born on October 8, 1928 in
Newburgh, she was the daughter of Louis Marshall and
Margaret Crudele. Marie grew up in Newburgh, NY and
graduated from Newburgh Free Academy. Marie worked at Mount
Saint Mary College for many years until her retirement.
Marie was always in the kitchen and passed down her love for
cooking and baking to her family who are honored to make
sure that her traditions live on. She was a loving daughter,
sister, mother, grandmother, and wife. On July 18, 1948, she
married her beloved groom, James Brewer Sr. "Jim" at Sacred
Heart Church where they were faithful members and devoted
Catholics. Marie was also known as "Na" by her cherished
grandchildren who she doted on. Na loved taking care of
Samantha and James III and spent her retired years doing so
with Jim. Marie had a big heart and will be greatly missed
by everyone that knew her. Marie is survived by her son
James Brewer Jr. and his wife, Laura Brewer of Wallkill.
Also surviving Marie are her two grandchildren James Brewer
III and Samantha Hapeman and her husband, Ryan Hapeman, who
Marie lovingly referred to as her third grandchild. Marie
also has a daughter, Barbara. Marie has been reunited with
her parents, her husband Jim, and many other treasured
family members that have already passed on.
At the request of Marie, private services were held for her
immediate family.
