1961, he married Thalia Jovan in Syracuse. He also undertook

by 1965 had accumulated 18 graduate credits.
Several years later, Lyn and Thalia left Central New York,
moving first to Falls Church, Va., and then in 1970 to
nearby Arlington, where he was employed by Scope, Inc. In
1967, he earned his master’s degree in engineering
administration at George Washington University. From Scope,
he moved first to General Electric in Rockville, Md., where
he acted as a sales consultant, then to Tandem Computers
Inc., where he was manager of marketing, and finally to
Northrop Grumman. He retired in 1998.
Lyn was continually engaged in community service. For 30
years he was a volunteer at the Smithsonian Natural History
Museum, receiving the President’s Volunteer Service Award
from President Clinton for his efforts. He ushered at the
Arena Stage as well as at the National Cathedral and the
National Opera. In his later years, he was an AARP tax aide,
assisting older people with their income tax filings. He
also provided support for Thalia in her role as teacher in
the Arlington public school system.
A loyal alumnus, he donated generously to the Priorities for
Hamilton campaign and served on the Washington, D.C.,
Special Gifts Committee for the 175th Anniversary Campaign.
