Charles Clayton - Teacher

    Charlie "Charles" Clayton, 92, of New Windsor, NY, passed away on January 2, 2024. Born on March 24, 1931, in New York City to Jacob and Philomena Clayton, he was a beloved father, teacher, and friend.

Charlie, known for his positive outlook on life, sharp wit, and generosity, dedicated years to shaping young minds as a Latin teacher in the Newburgh City School District from 1959 to 1993. He served in the US Army from 1954 to 1956 and continued to touch lives as a camp counselor for many years.

In his free time, Charlie enjoyed antiquing and spending time with his family. He is survived by his children Kevin, Stephanie, Timothy, Christopher, Colin, their spouses, 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary, brother Jim and his parents.

A visitation will be held on May 28 from 4-7 PM at Hudson Valley Funeral Home, 239 Quassaick Avenue, New Windsor, NY.
A graveside service for immediate family will be held on May 29th at the Orange County Veteran Cemetery in Goshen,NY.
