Margo Harrison Baccaro - Class of 1960

Margo Harrison Baccaro, 81, a life-long resident of Newburgh, N.Y., passed away Monday, November 20, 2023. She was born February 12, 1942, in Newburgh, N.Y., to the late Ward Harrison and Priscilla Kirkup Harrison. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and a 1960 graduate of Newburgh Free Academy. Upon graduation, Margo was employed by Abby Lumber in Newburgh, N.Y.. In 1980, Margo opened Chapter 2 Ceramics, a ceramics studio, where she taught classes and created beautiful pieces which were sold in gift shops throughout the Hudson Valley. Her beautiful creations graced the tables of several bed & breakfast in N.Y.S. and were gifted to family and friends. Margo is lovingly remembered by daughter Julie, son Dru; five grandchildren Kyle, Emily (her favorite granddaughter), Jack, Benjamin and Christopher; great-grandson Logan (her #1 boy); sister-in-law Patricia Harrison Feldner and many cousins. Margo is predeceased by her parents, her sister, Shirley Harrison Myers and her brother, Jack Harrison. Margo dearly loved her dogs. Through the years, she adopted many dogs from various shelters giving them a safe, warm, loving home. In lieu of flowers, please consider adopting a dog or cat from your local shelter or making a donation in her remembrance to Hudson Valley SPCA, New Windsor, N.Y. A memorial gathering, for family and friends, will be held Saturday, May 25, 2024; Rev. Dr. Jeffrey L. Hooker will officiate. Private burial of cremains will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
