Ernest Connelly - Class of 1988

    Ernest "Tiger" Connelly, Jr. passed away on May 20, 2024, at the age of 54 at his home, with his wife by his side, after a 2-year battle with colon cancer. He was a brave and courageous warrior until the very end of his fight. He was born to parents, Ernest Connelly Sr. & Edna Connelly on February 25, 1970, in Newburgh, N.Y. He grew up with his siblings and enjoyed playing football and basketball with his childhood friends, many of whom he remained friends with until his passing. In 1990, he joined the United States Army and was stationed in Kentucky. He served 4 years and was honorably discharged. Tiger worked for Nabisco/Mondelez International for 23 years, even working after his diagnosis and treatment. He was a loyal, hard-working employee and proud Union member. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed fishing and riding his motorcycle. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy's and New York Yankee's fan. He loved watching football every Sunday with the boys.

On November 4, 2023, he married his long-time fiancee, Rhonda in a small backyard wedding, surrounded by their wonderful families & friends. He is survived by his wife Rhonda Connelly, sister Vicki MacDonald & brother-in-law Tom MacDonald, nephew Schuyler MacDonald, niece Shannon MacDonald and her partner Dean Rodriguez, sister-in-law Kayce O’Connell, nephew Sean Mosca, nephew Jason Tym, brother-in-law Patrick Foucher, sister-in-law Karen Foucher, nephew Patrick Foucher, niece Angela Foucher, stepdaughter Brianna Matteo and her fiancee Sindy Ismael, as wells as aunts & uncles, cousins, and many loving friends. He was predeceased by his loving parents, Ernest & Edna Connelly, and his brother Kenny Makarewicz. There will be a memorial gathering at Brooks Funeral Home on Sunday, May 26, 2024, from 1 pm – 3 pm.

Rhonda and family would like to thank Dr. Fauzia Paracha and her amazing team for their dedication, love and support these last two years. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider donating blankets, hats, or snacks to your local Oncology offices or make a donation to the American Cancer Society. - February 25, 1970 ~ May 20, 2024
