Andrew Otto Siebern, 75, passed away peacefully, holding his loving wife’s hand on Monday June 3, 2024 while at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. He was born on March 15, 1949 in Newburgh, New York to the late Arthur & Mary Palazzo Siebern.
Along with his parents, Andy is reunited in passing with his sister, Janet Bartlett.
Andy was a hardworking man with a heart of gold. He was raised in Connecticut where he received his BS in Industrial Engineering from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, Class of 1971 and went on to earn his Master of Business Administration from the University of New Haven, Class of 1980. Andy went to work for DRS Fermont in Bridgeport until 2006 and then to Vendmore Systems, LLC until 2011. Andy finally retired after a lifetime of service, from r4 Technologies, Inc., in 2020. Andy and his family then relocated to Murrells Inlet where he was able to enjoy the finer things in life. In his free time, Andy loved walking the beach with his wife, playing golf, and tending to his garden. Andy also enjoyed time spent socializing and making memories with friends and family as well as the occasional cold libation. In his younger years, Andy was an avid runner who proudly completed several 5k’s and loved biking. His passion for staying active made him a staple in the local gym. Above all else, Andy loved his family with his whole heart. He will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish Andy’s memory are his adoring wife with whom they would have celebrated 40 years of marriage this coming July, Mrs. M. Noel Lawrence Siebern of Murrells Inlet; their son, Drew Siebern and his wife, Jenel; their children and Andy’s beloved grandchildren, Samantha “Sammy”, Daniel “Danny” & Michael “Mikey;” as well as his brother, Doug Siebern and his wife, Marilyn; adopted family, Sue & Jeff Klein, Martha & Randy Varnum, Laura Klein & Leslie Klein; as well as a large, loving, extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors both here locally and in Connecticut.
A Celebration of Andy’s life will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday July 13, 2024 at the Newtown United Methodist church, 92 Church Hill Rd. Sandy Hook, CT 06482. The family will gather to greet friends following the service from 12:00PM until 3:00PM at the Newtown Community Center, 8 Simpson St. Newtown, CT 06470.
A Local Celebration of Andy’s life will be held in Murrells Inlet in the fall of this year. Those details will be announced when finalized.
At the request of the family, please consider memorial contributions in lieu of flowers. Donations in Andy’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org
