Joan Murray Boydston - Class of 1951

    Joan Catherine Murray Boydston died peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, June 28, 2024, at the age of 90 in Georgetown, Tx. Joan was born October 16, 1933 in Newburgh, NY to James Martin Murray and Helen V. Kinsley Murray. Joan graduated from Newburgh Free Academy High School, Newburgh, NY in 1951. Joan met the love of her life James Neal Boydston and were married on June 12, 1954. After several years being stationed in many areas while her husband served his country they made their home in Georgetown, Texas in 1970. They were blessed with 2 beautiful children, James(Jim) in 1954 and Karen in 1958. Joan worked at Met Life in New York before her marriage and once settled in Georgetown, Tx she worked at Georgetown Hospital in Medical Records and retired from Georgetown Medical Clinic. She served and volunteered in many organizations throughout her life and most recently was a member of the New Horizons Extension Club of Williamson County.
Joan is preceded in death by her parents, James M. and Helen V. Murray; husband, James Neal Boydston; and son, James Thomas Boydston. Joan is survived by her daughter Karen P. Leschber and husband Douglas of Georgetown, Tx, grandchildren Stephanie Lloyd and husband Lance of Georgetown, Tx, Justin Leschber of Georgetown, Tx, Elaine O'Brien and husband Mike of Utah, Matthew Boydston of Cedar Park, Tx, great grandchildren Garrett Lloyd and Kelsie Lloyd of Georgetown, Tx, Tiffany Lansford and husband Mason of Killeen, Tx, sister Patricia Helms of Georgetown, Tx, daughter in law Fran Boydston of Cedar Park, Tx, sister in law Jackie Boydston of Austin, Tx, nieces Cathy Mendoza and husband Rosendo of Georgetown, Tx, Cyndi Gibson and husband Scott of Georgetown, Tx and special cousin Mary Jane Reed of Cornwall, NY. She is also survived by many other nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Shriners Hospital for Children, Make A Wish of South and Central Texas or any charity of your choosing.
