 Giovonina Elizabeth Manzano (aka Jennie) 1945-2024.
Jennie, beloved mother of 3, peacefully left this world after a long battle with Alzheimer's Dementia at the age of 79 on July 4, 2024, leaving her mark impressed upon our lives forever. She was born January 17th in Newburgh, NY in 1945 to the parents of John J Riccio and Filomena Sansevieri Riccio. Jennie attended St Francis of Assisi School and graduated from Newburgh Free Academy before getting married and becoming a mother to John C Carey, Gina Peavey and April Shipman. She shared her love for knitting, fishing and swimming along with her great love for animals which was obvious by the numerous pets she had in her lifetime.
Jennie was pre-deceased by her parents, her sisters Barbara McGrath and Debra Previti. She is survived by her sister Jo Ann Woodward, her children, her grandchildren Tony Wallace Jr, John Carey Jr, Ronald Shipman III, William Peavey Jr, Cody Carey, Charles Williams Jr, Cory Carey, Angelina Shipman, Sandriana Shipman, Jenna Carey and her namesake Giovanina (Nina) Shipman. She also had 7 great grandchildren. Her family will never forget her and the love she once poured into their lives.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the future.
