Rose C. Marshall Sears, 97, of New Windsor, NY, passed peacefully and joined her loved ones in Heaven on August 7, 2024. Rosie was born on October 15,1926 in Newburgh, NY, to Luigi and Michelina Crudele Marshall. She grew up in Newburgh with her sister Marie. She was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy and loved to skate at the roller rink. Rose was married to Frederick R. (Bucky) Sears. They were blessed with two children: Frederick, Jr. and Margaret Rose. Being a mother was always, always her top priority. Rosie took great pride in her job at Stewart Field. She was a secretary for the U.S. Army Reserve for many years until her retirement. Rosie loved baking! She baked for Freddie's Little League teams, she baked wedding cakes for many fortunate couples, and oh! the Sisters at Mount St. Mary enjoyed her cookies for many years! Rosie was a lifetime member of Sacred Heart Church in Newburgh and attended Mass regularly. Rose is pre-deceased by her parents, her sister Marie and Brother-in-Law James Brewer, her husband, Frederick R. Sears, Sr. (1978) and her beloved son, Frederick, Jr. (2016). She is survived by: her daughter and love of her life, Margaret Sears and Fred's children, Lauren and Matthew. She is also survived by nieces and nephews who loved her, including: Cele Cimorelli, Clyde Wensing, Linda Osterhoudt, Tom Sears and wife Elena, Barbara Brewer and partner Reid Cole-Hatchard, Joni Mongelli and husband Paul, Jim McGrath and wife Kathy, and many others. Margaret would like to thank her mom's volunteer caregiver Donna McCarthy who has become part of the family to many of us. There aren't enough words. Thank you also to Matt Veronesi and John and Laura Davis - very lovely people who volunteered their time to brighten Rosie's days. We are so grateful. Rose's wake will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024, 4- 7 pm at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh.
